NFL Weekly Picks: a point for a correct call
Straight picks and spread picks are separate sets. A correct straight winner earns one point; a wrong winner earns zero. If the game ends in a tie, the straight pick is void.
A spread pick earns one point when your team covers the line captured at kickoff. A wrong call earns zero. An exact push, or a game with no captured valid line, is void. A game you did not pick is omitted from your graded pick count rather than treated as a wrong call.
What a spread changes
If the home team’s line is −3.5, it needs to win by at least four points to cover. Winning by three is a straight win, but a loss against that spread. With a −3 line, a three-point win is an exact push and the spread pick is void.
Probability Picks: confidence has a cost
Probability Picks uses a different rule: 25 − 100 × (p − result)², where p is your chosen probability as a decimal, and result is 1 if that team wins or 0 if it loses. A 50% prediction earns zero either way. A tied game is void.
A 75% regular-season prediction
If your chosen team wins, the pick earns 18.75 points. If it loses, the pick loses 31.25 points. The standings display totals to one decimal. Playoff round multipliers change the value, so check that Game’s scoring notes.
This rewards accurate confidence over repeated predictions. Being confident does not make a wrong call safe.
Locked, pending and scored mean different things
Locked means an entry or pick can no longer be edited. NFL weekly picks lock at each game’s kickoff; other formats have their own deadlines. Soccer fixtures can retain an earlier lock after a schedule change, so use the lock shown in the app.
Pending means the result or scoring needed for that prediction is not complete. A submitted entry can be safely saved while its points are still pending. Results are graded as the relevant games or rounds finish; do not treat every pending row as zero.
Unranked is an eligibility label, not a failed save. For example, an NFL Season Prediction made after ranked entry closes can still play, but it does not take a ranked place.
Read the rules for the Game you are playing
Open Rules at the top of the competition. NFL has a Scoring reference with points, locks, voids, tiebreakers and model versions. A league-table prediction, a bracket and a weekly pick set do not all use the same formula.
Standings identify the Game and its scope. Tied NFL Weekly Picks start with points, then correct picks; the weekly tiebreaker can separate otherwise level players once its game is final. Season standings use their own rules. If a result seems wrong, send support the competition, Game and affected fixture.
